Let the games begin!

Well, it’s finally here. We kicked off the 2010/2011 ice seasn today… Mike and I met at CT Outfitters at 4 this morning for bait and headed to the hills in the northwest corner in search of ice. We didn’t have a ton of time, so we checked Park Pond and Woodcreek real quick. Both had just about 3″ of ice. We decided to set up on Woodcreek because I was more famliar with it than Park.

It was 18 degrees when we set up with a bit of a breeze. The new Frabill Icesuit sure came in handy! Unfortunately,there isn’t much to report. We hung out till 9:30 without a single flag. I wanted to move further out, but just didn’t feel like chancing it. We had all the safety gear, but chose to stay in close. As usual, it felt great to dust the gear off and turn the auger! The long term wather looks great for that part of the state. I anticipate seeing quite a few reports fro the hils this coming weekend. Get out there but be safe! Be smart and don’t go it alone…
